Monday blues? Take 5 to plan your RS200 Sailing!

The Jubilee weekend may be over, but the RS200 season is in full swing and many of the events coming up have a fun social element too - great practice for the Nationals on both the sailing and partying fronts.

For sailors new to the class - please be assured that all levels are welcome at all of our events, the fleet are very helpful and the best way to improve really is to come along and sail at an RS200 event.

Although it's the usual message to please help us to help you by entering events online in advance, we also have some events coming up where you can enter on the day.

SEAS Tour Warsash, 11/12 June
Andy Powell, RS400 Technical Rep and Warsash sailor says "The SI’s are up, we have a Hawaiian shirt theme for Saturday night, the caterers are excellent (book food in advance please) and we will be accepting entries on the day too. The long range weather is looking perfect."
What's not to like?!

West Country Boat Repairs SW Ugly Tour, Bristol Corinthian, 11 June
With a good home fleet, BCYC and legendary Race Officer Arky, always put on a good event. Short sharp racing, with video recording to be played in the bar afterwards, plus the option to stay onsite and sail on Sunday, either with club racing or informally.  Online and on-the-day entry available.

Stewart Brewing Scottish Tour, Royal Tay, 18/19 June
The entry includes free Domino's pizza/sides/salad for sailors on Saturday after sailing and there's then live music in the main club from 7:30pm. So hopefully great weekend on and off the water!

SEAS Weir Wood, 25 June
3 races back-to-back, followed by lunch and a further 2 races back-to-back. The series event will be 1 day, but sailors are welcome to stay and join club racing or informally train on Sunday. Online entry open now, on-the-day entry is possible, subject to a late entry fee.

Gingerboats Northern Tour, Lord Birkett, 2/3 July
Frequently won by the RS400s, can the RS200s beat them in this 60th anniversary year?!

AIX Rose Women's Weekend, 9/10 July
A unique opportunity to get to know the females of the RS200 fleet and be coached by Maria Stanley and Maddy Anderson.  No female RS200 sailor should miss this! This is one where we need you to get your entries in please.  Not a female sailor?  Please consider loaning your boat to someone for the event, if you don't have someone you know who may like to come, we have a few sailors who are looking for a boat - please email [email protected] , particularly if you have a boat at or near Itchenor that sailors from afar could use.

Southern Championships, Parkstone - Sat 16 July for SW Ugly Tour, Sat 16 and Sun 17 July for Rooster National Tour
Last chance for anyone south of Watford to get some big fleet racing on the sea before the RS Games and Nationals. Details to follow soon. (Those North of Watford may prefer the Stewart Brewing event at Aberdeen & Stonehaven or Gingerboats Northern Tour event at Abersoch!).

What a fabulous Summer of RS200 Sailing this is!
