Newcomers
New to the RS200 fleet, or thinking of sailing an RS200?
The RS200 Class Association is here to help you!
See below for some ideas on where to start:
Join our RS200 Class Association class, regional, youth and/or events facebook groups - see contact tab at the top of the page. Members use these groups to discuss technical advice, share sailing tips, post photos, sell/buy boats and everything else RS200 related.
The facebook groups are a good place to start if you're looking for a regular or one-off sailing partner.
See the RS200 clubs box on the homepage, if there is an RS200 club near you, we can introduce you to RS200 sailors there, and help you set up a test sail.
Come to an event - all coaching, regional and National events are published on the calendar and are open to all. We have a gold, silver, bronze fleet system to encourgae competition throughout the fleet. Contact one of the committee (see contact us page) and let them know you are coming so that we can make you welcome at your first event and help you with boat set-up etc.
The age of RS200 sailors ranges from juniors to grand masters, and we encourage a culture of fair and courteous racing for all. We have junior pairs, juniors sailing with parents, youth pairs, and a huge number of adult sailors, inlcuding many masters and grand masters. At this year's Inlands the ages of the top 10 boats ranged from 12-60+. We also welcome sailors whose main boat is not the RS200.
In RS200's the designated youth age is 22 and under and we have designated youth reps.
Join the RS200 class association to receive our regular Fast News updates, enjoy discounts from our sponsors and partners, and to enter National Circuit events. Annual, one-event and club sailor membership options are available - see membership tab.
