So who's making the trip to Rutland for one of the best events in the calendar?

I am very sorry to say that I cannot make it this year as I am sitting with my arm in a sling, recovering from a shoulder operation. Problem caused by a tumble off my mountain bike, so no sympathy expected. However out of action for 2 months! So no POSH either.

I will be back, stronger than before. For those that make the journey, enjoy the Sprints. It is a great event.

See you later in the year.

The Blue Stripe.

I have just entered David. Sorry to hear you are not able to make it, your blue stripe will be sadly missed, hope you have a speedy recovery and see you soon.

David I don't think the problem was the tumble but the idiot in the saddle!
Sorry you wont be at the Sprints, I will be there.
I didn't want to show too much sympathy as thats Emmas role.

Hi folks, I've had my boat since September - this will be my first open. Where do people stay for Rutland?

Mark,
Do you really think Emma shows any sympathy for this injury. It is entirely self-inflicted. I get more sympathy from my blue stripe.

Enjoy the Sprints. I look forward to reading the write up. What if I do the write up for you. I could have a showing in every race and probably win the thing on paper. I can just see that perfect pin end start for the flying Blue Stripe, crossing the fleet, leading at the first mark where Greg misses the spreader... I am sure you can help me finish the article.

Have fun and I hope to see you all soon.

David

Hi Paul. In the past and when available we stay at the centre next door, it's simple but dose the job for the price, details are on the club web site. Greg.

Old Hall Coach house is a good place to stay and close to the club. You can also camp in the field next to the club.

I'll be in my tent unless it rains, in which case in the car!

Booked in to the onsite bunk house 14 for the night, I was told that quite a few of the beds are already booked up, so if you are thinking of staying in the bunk house best get on it

Thanks to all of you for welcoming me to the class. I've got a long way to go but I am sure I will get there with more of the help and advice I got over the weekend. Had a great time - probably should have sailed today but TBH I was knackered after all of the swimming on Saturday

Likewise from me! Thanks for all the help and advice fixing my spinnaker rigging... Day 2 was much more enjoyable as a result.
I think the beer-fuelled tips on the evening helped too :)

Good to see both Simon and Paul at Rutland.
There are pics of the event at http://fothergillphoto.shootproof.com/RSsprints23.04.16    I think all these were taken in the calmer times as my body is telling me that it was windier than it looks in them.
I hope everyone enjoyed the format, and thanks to those at Rutland for doing such a slick job yet again.

I particularly liked the photo of Huw going in. I nearly bought it actually, just to remind me it's not always only me that ends up using the rig as a foil!
