However I've discovered a gap of about 4mm between the aft end of the mast deck plate and the deck. The screws don't appear loose, in fact the slots in the screws are both aligned fore and aft suggesting they haven't moved. Is it just the four visible screws that hold this assembly in place? Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned? Should I tighten the two screws at the aft end in the hope that it will come back down? Just thought I'd sound out you experts before jumping in feet first! Andy Tweet |

Personally, I would get a beefy screwdriver and see if cranking the aft 2 screws does the trick - be warned, they ought to be reasonably stiff either which way - but also be sensible if you meet absolute resistance If you are worried, give RS a ring, I am sure the will give you the support you need Clive Tweet |
