It's extremely difficult to get my two mast halves apart, and back together. Both ends are clean. Any suggestions? Sanding? Lubrication?

Clean both sections every time you pull the mast apart and using some lubricant will help. I think it's always a bit tight though. I just tie one end to a tree via the boom bolt and pull while twisting. Works every time.

Not sure about it being difficult to put back together though. That doesn't sound right. It needs to kind of rotate as it slides back together.

Firstly, don't use pro-lube or the like, it seems to glue the parts together

To part, shake mast to loosen where it's glued itself together, apply lots of water and get a friend to twist one end while you twist the other.

Once apart, rub with cloth and running water until all goo stuck to join-parts has gone - you'll probably find it is covered in salt/mud/sand/carbon-fibre dust.

Should go together better and be easier to split next time
