Having spent a lot of the weekend not going very fast nor far in very light (to no) winds I was wondering if there was a minimum wind speed for the 8.4 rig and/or what settings to use. I might not have bothered but it was the Club regatta. Even when I managed to get the spinnaker to fill, it was not really drawing and Lasers and Qubas were ghosting past me (I did jump into a Laser at one point to show myself I could still sail...).

I had time to experiment with settings - mast rake setting 2, flat sail (outhaul), kicker off, cunningham both on and off (as I read somewhere that on may help), centreboard half up or fully down, hull flat (but hard to tell which way was upwind at times...)  Only thing I couldn't try was losing weight @ 86Kg (suppose I could have worn a wetsuit in 25degC... but not really effective soon enough).

With high pressure continuing, is it worth even trying at sub-2 knots??
Thanks
Tim
