The tack of the kite is then wrapped under the pole. It sits fine again with the pole retracted. Before I start diving into the mysteries of the foredeck has anyone else come across this? I haven't changed anything in terms of set up so not sure why it's suddenly started now. Tweet |

What happens is the bowsprit gets twisted when the boat in unrigged and then when you rig up the spinnaker there is a twist in the strings under the deck so that when you hoist the sail the pole twists as it goes out. You just need to inspect the ropes under the deck and then untwist the pole. The alternative is to hoist the spinnaker on the shore and just untwist the tack line when the sail is up. The bowsprit must have revolved by 180 degrees leaving me with a guess as to which way to tie the tac line on....and I got it wrong!! Simple fix----pull the kite up on land and untwist the pole until such time as it stops revolving. Once sorted mine has never come back. J Tweet |
