Having spent too long swimming around my boat at Easter I thought it was worth highlighting the need to have the stopper knots in the centreboard uphaul in the right place.  I tumbled gracefully over the side of the boat in a capsize and grabbed the board as I went past it, forcing it forwards beyond its fully-down position.  The stainless steel plate bent into a beautiful work of art and the board came loose.  Very difficult to get back on to it after that and lots of horrible cracking noises every time it swung forward again.  Of course the leverage on the SS fitting is enormous but simply adjusting the position of the stopper knots should prevent that happening again.
That's probably just obvious to the rest of you or maybe your stopper knots are in the right place already (as they were on Jane's #135) but they weren't on mine and I didn't think about it until after I'd spent a large part of Easter Monday testing the water temperature!
