Advice needed after a pretty traumatic time with a strained wrist.

Leading the fleet on race 1 Sunday (happy days) which was 14 gusting 24knots so the 100 really came into its own on the first beat. Kite up and pulled away from the Vareos, got pretty much through the gybe and as I went to grip the tiller pain through my wrist to my hand not able to grip anything, boat broached and I ended up in the water...no chance to get a dry capsize done.

Got the kite back in the bag and then swam around...looked up at the board and noted not a hope was I ever going to get up onto the board...aaarrrggghh!! Somehow the boat came upright - happy days and managed to climb into the boat but it then rolled back over. Cue major frustration and further pain as going back into the boat.

SO - eventually got one of the clubs patrol boats to help but it did make me think "I'm going to pose the question on peoples technique for..."

a) getting onto the board if it is even possible

and

b) best place to go for - over the wing or through the back

Thanks in advance...time to rest it up for a couple of days then hitting the gym for some serious strength training!!!

If you are quick you can climb the inside of the boat - toe strap, boom, mast, and over. If I'm in the water by the board I don't bother trying to climb on as any weight brings it up so quickly.

Going over the back calms everything down but I usually go over the wing as it's quicker and you don't resemble a seal mating with the stern of the boat. As the toe straps are a bit out of reach I've got a line either side running from the toe strap deck fitting to the shroud. One hand on that and roll in.
