A Coaching weekend on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April 2024.
A pre-season warm up weekend at Chew Valley Lake SC for EVERYONE in the RS100 fleet!
Tips and training for all, from those brand new to the boat to top 10 Nationals sailors. The best way to learn really is to come along and sail with fellow RS100 sailors.
A great chance to be coached by class Chairman David Smart and the brothers Jones (Andy and Steve), all of whom are amongst the very best in the fleet. It’s also an opportunity for newbies to get to know everyone before the Rooster National Tour begins with the Sprints at Rutland the following week.
Saturday
Coaching, including rig set up and tuning, with on the water focus on manoeuvres, practice starts and some short practice races. Participants should be ready with boats rigged (but mains down) and changed into wetsuits for 10:00 for a prompt start to the day. We aim to wrap up at 16:30.
Sunday
The plan is to join in with the Chew Valley Lake handicap racing for those that wish to. That involves two windward/leeward races in the morning starting at 10.30, and three races in the afternoon. We’ll also have a small RS100 prize giving at the end of the day.
Entry
Entry is free for both Chew Valley Lake SC members and for visiting boats, made possible by an RS Class Association Training grant.
Please will EVERYONE enter online. This allows us to plan the training session for the number of boats attending and allow us to brief the catering team.
All participants MUST also be members of the RS Class Association who are subsidising the event. One event membership is available for £15, which can be upgraded to full membership (£45) during the year by paying the difference.
Entry will close at midnight on Wednesday 10 April. Entry on the day may be possible, but please email David Smart ([email protected]) to let him know you are coming.
