The weekend of the 30th June/1st July Hayling Island SC will host the 3rd round of the RS100 Gull GP series.
With the class considering having their nationals at HISC in 2013 it will give the class a chance to experience the expertise of the club in putting on a fantastic event. With 10+ RS100’s based at HISC and local sailors desperate to get hold of boats for the event we are sure for a bumper number of entries.
After a cracking National championships held at Paignton SC over the Jubilee long weekend the fleet are rejuvenated and expecting to have a great entry with tight racing right throughout the fleet.
Sailing is due to be held out in Hayling bay, which provides some of the best racing in the country. This combined with sharing the event with the RS600 and RS800 fleets plus the fantastic shore facilities (BAR!!) mean that the whole weekend are sure to be great fun.
There will be 6 races over the weekend with registration open from 9:00, the briefing is at 11 and warning signal at 12.55.
Currently Mark Harrison leads the 8.4 fleet in the Gul GP standings and Alex Morrison leads the 10.2 fleet. They are sure to want to extend their lead in their fleets although will not have it all their own way as 8.4 National Champion Neal Freeman is set to attend, as is 10.2 champion and local boy Paul Childs, although there is set to be much competition from the local sailors proven by the fact that Childs has not won a club race to date in 2012!
