Ollie Groves and Esther Parkhurst Win Endeavour Trophy!
The RS Class Association congratulates Oliver Groves and Esther Parkhurst, winners of the Endeavour Trophy 2024!
Ollie and Esther were representing the 2000 class, but of course regular and hugely popular sailors in the RS400 and RS200 fleets.
In Sue Pelling's Y&Y report, they said "We actually only did the 2000 nationals because it was at the same venue as the RS400 champs, so we thought we'd give it a go and get some practice in!"
After a close final day battle that went right down to the wire, an extremely happy Groves and Parkhurst said they can't believe they will be driving home back to North Yorkshire with the Endeavour Trophy: "We had a feeling we'd won but until we actually saw the result we tried not to get too excited. We are absolutely delighted and a bit lost for words."
The RS Class Association are also proud of our many other RS Class sailors who took part in the event, the list is to long to mention them all, but a special shout out to the RS200 Champions Ben Whaley and Lorna Glen, RS400 winners Edd and Thomas Whitehead and to Tommy & Charlie Darling representing the RS800. Another stand out performance for us was Andrew and Jill Peters, finishing in 15th place.
How would you like to be coached by the Endeavour winners?! Watch this space for a Winter coaching announcement very soon...
